We understand that starting your intimate waxing journey can feel intimidating so Elle has answered some frequently asked questions to help you feel fully prepared.

 

​Does it hurt? 

This is by far the most common question I get asked and the trickiest one to answer. Whilst I would never guarantee that it will be completely pain free, I would say that most new clients are surprised by how easy it is and say they were expecting much worse. It's over and done with so quickly too. Most intimate waxes are finished in less than 15 minutes.​

 

What are different styles of intimate wax?

​Hollywood - Everything off! All pubic hair removed including the inner buttocks.

Brazilian - Same as a Hollywood but with a strip/triangle left on the pubic mound.

Modest Brazilian - Sometimes referred to as a g-string wax. This is the removal of all the hair a g-string wouldn't cover - including the inner buttocks. Basically a step in between a bikini line and a Brazilian. Bikini line - Just the edges. This is the removal of any hair that a standard bikini brief wouldn't cover.​

 

How long does my hair need to be?

​I usually say let it grow for at least 2 weeks after shaving. There is no such thing as too long so please do not trim or shave prior to your appointment. Longer hair does not make the wax more painful, in fact, longer hair is removed more easily and leaves you with a cleaner finish.

 

​Is it awkward?

​Absolutely not. Please remember that this is what I specialise in and I see so many people naked in a day, I really don't think anything of it. I really have seen it all over the last 10 years so I promise you there is nothing to be embarrassed/feel awkward about.
